Screening Plagiarism

Jurnal Sinergi Inovasi dan Masyarakat (JSIM) is committed to maintaining academic integrity and ensuring the originality of all published articles. All submitted manuscripts are subject to plagiarism screening as part of the editorial evaluation process.

Plagiarism Detection System

JSIM uses plagiarism detection software such as Turnitin or equivalent similarity checking tools to assess the originality of manuscripts. The similarity check is conducted after the initial editorial screening and before the peer review process.

Similarity Threshold

Manuscripts will be considered for further review if the overall similarity index does not exceed 25%, excluding references, properly cited quotations, and standard methodological phrases.

  • Similarity above 25% but below 30% may be returned to the authors for revision.
  • Similarity exceeding 30% may result in immediate rejection.

Types of Plagiarism

JSIM does not tolerate any form of plagiarism, including:

  • Direct plagiarism (copying text without proper citation)
  • Self-plagiarism or redundant publication
  • Improper paraphrasing
  • Data fabrication or falsification
  • Unattributed use of ideas, figures, or tables

Editorial Actions

If plagiarism is detected during the review process, the manuscript will be rejected. If plagiarism is identified after publication, JSIM will take appropriate action in accordance with COPE guidelines, including issuing corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern.

Author Responsibility

Authors are responsible for ensuring the originality of their work and for properly citing all sources. By submitting a manuscript, authors confirm that the work is original and has not been published or submitted elsewhere.
