View MoreEvery manuscript submitted to Jurnal Sinergi Inovasi dan Masyarakat (JSIM) undergoes a rigorous and structured review process to ensure scientific quality, originality, relevance, and practical contribution to community development.
Authors submit their manuscripts through the OJS 3 system. Submissions must comply with the journal’s author guidelines, template, and publication ethics statement.
The Editor-in-Chief or assigned Editorial Board member conducts an initial evaluation to assess the manuscript’s alignment with the journal scope, compliance with formatting requirements, clarity of objectives and methodology, community impact, and ethical considerations. Manuscripts that do not meet the journal criteria or fall outside the scope will be rejected without external review. Manuscripts requiring technical corrections may be returned to authors before proceeding to peer review.
All manuscripts that pass the editorial screening are checked using plagiarism detection software. JSIM applies a maximum similarity index of 25% (excluding references and properly cited quotations). Manuscripts exceeding this threshold will be returned to the authors for revision or rejected.
Eligible manuscripts are sent to at least two independent reviewers (Mitra Bebestari) under a double-blind review system, where both authors and reviewers remain anonymous. Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on relevance to community service and innovation themes, originality, methodological rigor, sustainability of impact, contribution to knowledge and practice, clarity of presentation, and adequacy of references.
Reviewers provide recommendations in one of the following categories:
The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision based on reviewer recommendations. In cases of significantly differing opinions, a third reviewer may be appointed. The editorial decision is final.
Authors required to revise their manuscripts must submit a revised version along with a response letter addressing all reviewer comments. Revised manuscripts may be returned to reviewers for further evaluation when necessary.
Upon acceptance, the manuscript proceeds to copyediting, layout editing, and proofreading stages before publication. The entire review process generally takes 3–8 weeks, depending on reviewer availability and the revision process.
