Management Reference

Jurnal Sinergi Inovasi dan Masyarakat (JSIM) strongly encourages authors to use reference management software to ensure accuracy, consistency, and efficiency in citation formatting.

Citation Style

JSIM applies the American Psychological Association (APA) Style, 7th Edition. All in-text citations and references must strictly follow this format.

Authors are required to ensure that:

  • All references cited in the text are listed in the reference list.
  • All references listed are cited within the manuscript.
  • At least 80% of references are primary sources (journal articles, research reports, conference proceedings).
  • Most references are published within the last 10 years.

Recommended Reference Management Software

JSIM supports the use of reference management software compatible with Citation Style Language (CSL), including:

  • Mendeley
  • Zotero
  • EndNote
  • RefWorks

Using word processor plug-ins from these tools (Microsoft Word or LibreOffice), authors can automatically format citations and bibliographies according to APA 7th Edition style.

Mendeley Users

Mendeley Desktop or Mendeley Reference Manager users can install the APA 7th Edition citation style directly from the Mendeley Citation Style repository. After installation, select “American Psychological Association 7th Edition” in the citation plug-in to format references automatically.

Manual Formatting

If authors do not use reference management software, they must ensure that references are formatted manually according to APA 7th Edition guidelines. Authors should carefully check punctuation, italicization, capitalization, and DOI formatting.

DOI and URL Requirements

Authors are strongly encouraged to include Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) for all references where available. For online sources without DOIs, stable URLs must be provided.
